However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we test the i3+ does not have any obstacle-avoidance features which means it can get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and may have issues traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any toys or clutter it may come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes about three hours to fully recharge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most crucial feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin which removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are a bit misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is an average, not an exceptional, run time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. This is still enough to vacuum the majority of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to get every single area (though an additional run-through often will suffice). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is significantly better on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums the 694 is a basic model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robot. It could pick up all kinds of debris and sizes in our tests and would often go over the same area several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top selections and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series.
